Advantages
High Shielding Effectiveness: Braid coverage up to 85%-95%, effectively blocks electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) with excellent attenuation.
High Conductivity: Cu-ETP C11000 pure copper ensures extremely low grounding impedance for the shield, improving signal integrity.
Good Flexibility: Braided structure easily bends and wraps, suitable for tight bending radii and dynamic flexing cables without damaging inner insulation.
Tin-plating Option: Tin-plated copper shielding wires provide better corrosion resistance in humid, salt spray or sulfur-containing environments, extending service life.
Flexible Customization: Various wire diameters, cross sections and braid densities available. Precise matching based on customer-provided conductor diameter, no MOQ restriction.
Operating Conditions
Temperature Range: Bare copper -40°C to +150°C; tin-plated copper -40°C to +150°C (short-term up to +180°C).
Suitable Environment: Bare copper for dry indoor use; tin-plated for humid, salt spray, mild acid/alkali and industrial polluted areas.
Installation Requirements: The braid shall evenly cover the inner conductor. Ensure reliable contact with grounding rings or shield clamps when grounding both ends. Bending radius ≥5 times outer diameter of shielding wire recommended.
Electrical Conditions: For shielding in 100kHz~1GHz frequency range; grounding resistance should be as low as possible (<10mΩ).
Maintenance
Visual Inspection: Every 6 months check for broken strands, oxidation/discoloration (bare copper) or tin peeling (tin-plated).
Cleaning: Blow off dust with dry, oil-free compressed air; for oil contamination, wipe gently with an alcohol swab and dry thoroughly. Do not use acidic or alkaline cleaners.
Grounding Check: Check tightness of grounding connections at both ends; measure shield-to-ground resistance.
Avoid Mechanical Damage: Prevent sharp edge scraping or over-stretching during installation and use to avoid reducing shielding coverage.
Service Life
Under normal indoor conditions (-40°C to +120°C, no corrosive gases, static installation), the designed service life of copper shielding wires is 15-20 years. Tin-plated copper shielding wires can achieve 12-15 years in humid or mildly corrosive environments.
Thanks to pure copper material and single-layer braid construction, no replacement is needed within the normal service life of the cable.
For frequent flexing or vibration applications, it is recommended to check continuity and coverage every 2-3 years.
